Designed specifically with youngsters and first-time telescope buyers in mind the FunScope is a great way to test the waters of stargazing – affordably! But what can you see with it? The FunScope features a 76mm polished spherical mirror allowing you to capture 60 percent; more light than a typical 60mm beginner’s telescope. So you can observe the Moon Saturn’s rings as well as Jupiter and its four brightest moons all under light-polluted skies. Under dark skies even star clusters emission nebulae and some of the brighter galaxies are not beyond reach.The FunScope comes equipped with a red dot finder rack-and-pinion focuser and two 1.25 quality eyepieces: 20mm (15x) and 10mm (30x). So you can easily locate and observe objects in the night sky. The FunScope’s table-top mount features a quick-release dovetail mechanism so the telescope can be easily detached and mounted on a tripod. Alternatively the entire FunScope and mount itself can be mounted onto a tripod with a 3/8 screw. Adjustable tension clutches on both axes let you determine tube movement in both directions. :When I ordered this scope I was worried I had gone to small and to cheap. I was worried again when I saw on the box made in China. Yet when I got the telescope out and was able to take a quick tour of the night sky I was amazed. It moves so smoothly and works great to just sit it on a table and pull up a chair. It does not magnify things to WOW with the stock eye pieces but it is a blast just to cruise through the sky and see things in a whole new light. This little scope is incredibly well made and you will not be disappointed in the scope’s quality.
