This binoculars merchandise has been reviewed at Amazon and for your convenience we have recorded the underlisted visitor remarks on the Olympus Roamer 8×21 DPC I Compact Porro Prism Binocular (Black).

:for the price yeh its good handy light fits in pocket easy to use. its good for short burst but after long viewing eyes does get a bit tired and bit uncomfortable. not as sharp as the higher end models but again good for its price.

These binoculars were a very pleasant surprise! The image is very sharp all the way across the field of view (even at the edges) and the images are brighter than I would have thought they would be for 8×21 binoculars (and it’s corresponding small exit pupil size). The fact that they have porro prisms makes the big difference. When I compare these to most sets of similar priced 8×21 roof prism binoculars it becomes quite apparent that roof prism binoculars just don’t compare in quality to porro prisms in brightness

  6. Compact Binoculars

Traditionally, binoculars providing both the degree of magnification and image clarity required for detailed observation, have been relatively large and weighty objects that you hung round your neck on a strap or lanyard. As optical manufacturing techniques have improved, and optical coatings have improved the transmittance of light through the optics of binoculars, so the reduction in size of binoculars has become more feasible. Compact binoculars now offer improved portability with little or no loss of performance. The roof prism design splits the light into two paths and has a more complicated light path than the Porro prism design. This traditionally meant that the precision with which the roof prism was manufactured and assembled was a significant factor in the cost of such binoculars.
