What size and power binoculars should I bring on an Alaskan cruise? The trip will be 7 days long. Any suggestions?

Walmart’s sell a small size that fits into your pocket for $10.00 that are X30 that work great. The bigger ones get heavy after awhile and these work great. They sell them on the ship for $25.00. I had many people try these and they went in port and bought them. Afriend bought a pair to watch the deer.
I have taken them on 20 cruises to Alaska and would not go without them.
    Enjoy.

If you do not wear glasses, then a pair of 8×25 will be nice and compact, easy to carry around. I used a pair for years even though I do wear glasses, but I had to take my glasses off to use them. You might consider a larger pair 8×30 or 8×40, but for this trip I would not. If you wear glasses, you will want to give the problem more consideration. There are binoculars especially designed for that purpose. Look for a pair with eye relief of 17 mm minimum. They will be more expensive and they will not be compact.
More powerful than 8 power are subject to shake and jiggles. Some people can hold 10 power steady enough but beyond that it is virtually impossible.

Here is a link to a pair of 8×25 that should serve just fine.

For an eyeglass wearer, something like this.
